THERE’S POWER IN UNITY AND TOGETHERNESS

Jesus prayedThere’s power in unification and the early church knew what that looked like and because of that they watched miracles happen.

Acts 2:42-47 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

The early church did things that caused the unification.
They were intentional in everything they did.
What did they do that was intentional?

1. They devoted themselves to teachings
2. They broke bread and fellow-shipped with one another.
3. They prayed together.
4. They looked out for each other.
5. They did all of this gladly with a sincere heart and praising God together. There was power behind their unity!

It’s time for us to get back to the ways of the old church.
It’s time for us to be unified as one body, looking out for the interest of others outside ourselves.

Philippians 2:2-4 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

It’s time for us to start back investing in each other, making time for each other and breaking bread with each other instead of being so busy we can’t find time to fellowship with one another.

Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the day approaching.

It’s time for us to start back praying together.

Acts 1:13-14 When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. 14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

Psalm 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

That’s the goal for Together 2016 on the National Mall in Dc on July 16th 2016!!!

SIX LIFE LESSONS WE CAN LEARN FROM MARK CHAPTER 9:23-31

1 Thess

In life there many lessons we learn and will learn as we continue to live. I would like to share with you six life lessons from Mark chapter 9:23-31 that could benefit our daily life here on Earth.

Here’s the six life lessons and points we can learn from
Mark 9:23-31(NIV)

1. Anything is possible if we have faith to believe!

23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

2.’When we don’t believe or show faith there’s nothing wrong with asking for Jesus to help us to believe.

24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

3. Jesus power is so great that no matter what type of struggle we may have or how strong it maybe Jesus could remove it to the point of never being trapped by it again.

25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”

4. Sometimes going through a storm can really beat us up and take the life out of us but when Jesus lifts us up and takes us by the hand it breathes new life in us.

26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

5. Somethings no matter how many things we try or solutions we try to come up with can only be resolved through prayer.

28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.

6. Sometimes you just have to make time for and fellowship just with those close to you and pour into them.

30 They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were, 31 because he was teaching his disciples.

We can find our life in Jesus and his word is always enough for us and is all we truly need!!
