WHY SATAN HATES BOUNDARIES?

In life there’s many reasons for setting boundaries. If you’re a parent you truly know how important this is. You set boundaries for your children to protect them from things that could cause harm. Some of these boundaries could be what they watch on television, the type of music they listen to on the radio, what friends they hang-out with and the type of books they can read. My kids have boundaries set in all the areas listed above to eliminate as much negative influence on them as possible.

Boundaries though don’t stop with our kids or the youth but also should include us. The purpose of having boundaries is to protect and take care of ourselves. We should set them in every area of our life and allow others to know what they are to prevent them and us from over stepping those that are set. Some may say or think what’s the big deal.

Well I tell you it is a big deal because setting boundaries in our life as followers of Christ allows us to grow but when we don’t set boundaries we allow Satan to creep in ways that could cause destruction in our lives. There’s a verse that truly represents what our Christian walk look like when we set boundaries and don’t.

Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Verse 13- The wide represents a life without boundaries. Verse 14- The narrow represents a life with boundaries.

Satan hate boundaries because they give him an opportunity to do what he does best and love to do. John 10:10-(NIV) 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. Don’t fall into his trap instead allow Jesus through boundaries do what he said at the end of verse 10- I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
