ALLOWING GOD ROOM TO EXAM OUR HEARTS

psalm-26-2There’s always room for our hearts to be changed no matter how much we know, and no matter how deep we’re in our relationship with Christ if we allow it. The Apostle Peter walked with Jesus, talked to Jesus, encouraged others in Jesus, and had knowledge of and taught about Jesus but still with all that allowed God to work in and on his heart. Allowing God to do that not only brought him a blessing but others as well.

Acts 10:13-15
13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

Acts 10:24-27
24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. 26 But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”

27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.

Verse 28 represents a heart that was changed by GOD.

We can’t allow our knowledge, stubbornness or pride, keep us from allowing God the opportunity to change our hearts. If we do we may miss out on a blessing God may have in store for us and more importantly cause someone else to miss out on a blessing God prepared for them. Just ask Cornelius and his family!!! If Peter doesn’t allow his heart to be open to change Cornelius and his family miss out on and never receives the blessings of verse 44.

Acts 10:44
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. (That’s Cornelius and his family)

God maybe trying to do something in your life right now that you desire but something is keeping you from allowing him to change your heart. Allow God room to do a work in your heart so he can release the blessing you’ve been waiting for!!!!
