Have you ever felt like you were made for more?  I truly believe that we are made for more than what we think.  We limit ourselves based on our abilities or allow other people’s opinions keep us from doing what we know in our hearts we were born to do.  Even before John the Baptist was born his purpose in life was already laid out and what’s so cool is yours is also. John knew that he couldn’t fulfill Jesus purpose but he could fulfill John’s. The question is will you be like John living out your purpose getting rid of the fear of failure, lack of abilities and forgetting the opinions and lack of faith from others or will you try or continue trying to live out someone else’s life purpose instead of embracing yours?

Luke 1:14-17 (NIV)
14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.

The next couple of verses clearly define Johns purpose.

16 He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. 17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
