romans 23

Across the Country today we hear some say the word of God is out dated and that it’s just not relevant today. Some say it’s old fashion and that we’re in a different time today. But if they would take some time out in his word they would know that it’s so relevant today. For that still rely on his word it’s so great to know that God’s word was not just for Abraham, Israel and all of the disciples and apostles in it, but God’s word was meant for me, you and everyone who is willing to accept it.

Romans 4:23-25 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

God’s word encourages us, gives us hope, gives us peace, it gives us strength to go on, it increases our faith, it reveals God’s promises not just for them but for us and most of all it lets us know that Jesus died and was raised to life for our justification. God knew the things we would struggle with because he lived it and walked it. So he left us examples in his word of people who walked the same journey 2000 years ago that we walk now. He knew that there would come a time when his people would be tested on seeing behind their life circumstances, so he gave us examples like Abraham and Sarah’s future pregnancy to be encouraged by. To see a man who against all hope trusting God’s promises that he made to him and because of that his faith was credited as righteousness.

Romans 4:18-22 18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Embrace God’s word as a gift he has graciously gifted you as you continue to go through this journey we call life, allowing it to be your guide through all life circumstances as you continue to hold on to all God’s promises!!!!
