Day 3 Of Truth!!!
Hebrew 13-8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Some may disagree with this and that’s ok. I believe one of the biggest problems I’ve heard and seen believers in Christ do is reject the gift of prophecy today. Churches have broken up and separated over this issue. I must admit that I too at one point had a hard time with this. I have heard stories of people saying that they felt something was going to happen and it did but I wasn’t so sure. It was until it happened to someone I knew on multiple occasions that had a close relationship with Christ that my mind begin to change and I began to search scriptures. It was at that moment when God showed himself to me and said it clearly. (If you deny my gift of prophecy you deny me, you deny my power and everything else. I was like wow, how deep is that right?

1 Corinthians 14:22
22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.

The real reason I believe some believers reject this gift is because of fear really. To truly believe that means you have to truly believe in Gods power and gifts. So let’s look at Gods scriptures on this topic of Prophecy and see what he says about it.

Gods Word.

Old Testament
Numbers 11:29
29 But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

Numbers 12:6
6 he said, “Listen to my words: When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.

1 Samuel 10:10
10 When he and his servant arrived at Gibeah, a procession of prophets met him; the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him, and he joined in their prophesying.

1 Samuel 19:20
20 so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a group of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came on Saul’s men, and they also prophesied.

1 Chronicles 16:22
22 “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”

Amos 2:11-12
11 “I also raised up prophets from among your children and Nazirites from among your youths. Is this not true, people of Israel?”declares the Lord. 12 “But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.

Amos 3:7
7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.

Gods Word
New Testament

Matthew 23:34
34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

Acts 13:1
1 Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. (Did you notice that this was after Jesus Resurrection and their talking about prophets?)

Acts 15:32
32 Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers. (After Jesus Resurrection and Assention)

1 Corinthians 12:10
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. (Gift of prophecy according to this verse is a spiritual gift only given by God.)

1 Corinthians 12:28-29
28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
(All these gifts make up God total church)

1 Corinthians 14:1
14 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.
(This is a gift that should be desired not rejected)

Ephesians 4:11
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers

2 Peter 1:20-21
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (If someone posses this gift, we have to not look at them as having power, but God.)

The gift of prophecy back then help the church grow because people that didn’t believe were able to see some amazing things that were done through people that God used things that they knew only God could do. And that ladies and gentlemen caused them to give their lives to Christ. I believe we are truly missing out on some of Gods greatness because we refuse to believe his word fully only believing bits and pieces. It is until that time that when we truly begin to believe as a body, then we will see Gods greatest manifestation. Hebrew 13-8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
God hasn’t change do you agree? We have though from the early and first churches in the book of Acts.

If you’re a believer and his word doesn’t convince you that he hasn’t changed and still gives those he choose the spiritual gift of prophecy then you need to pray that God reveal him self to you for who he truly is. God has given all of those who believe in him spiritual gifts, so let us stop denying his gifts.

1 Corinthians 12: 4-6
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
