How do I know God really speaks? Here is how. 6 days ago God put 1 Thessalonians 5:17 on my heart which says pray continually in Niv and pray without ceasing in KJV. This started my 30 pray challenge. Well every morning a guy from my church sends out a random verse and on that morning 6 days ago it was the same verse. Here is the kicker. Last night for our family devotional the verse for it was

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Guess what the daily verse is in you version this yesterday morning was. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

God surely speaks and he is trying to encourage us to continue to pray about our situations more than once. When God tells us to seek and knock in Matthew in the Greek it means continuous. So keep knocking until your prayer is answered even if it’s not the answer you wanted.
