In life sometimes, we wonder why the journey took a little bit longer than we thought it would or should. Some battles we face may be more difficult than we thought they would.  The question we would all like to know is why. Why did this take longer than it should have. Well the answer is that God knows us very well. And he know that if he allowed the journey to be short, or that battle to be a breeze. That we wouldn’t appreciate it as much and that we may fall back into that battle or struggle that we were dealing with.

Exodus 13:17-18 NIV
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.
