Remaining SilentI truly believe we can all relate to situations, were we have a choice to respond, or not to respond. There are times when we should respond, then there are times when we shouldn’t. We maybe dealing with a situation, were we know we are right. So because we are right and because our pride, we respond back in a negative way. Sometimes when we have conflict looking at us right in the eye calling us out, instead of responding we should remain silent. Matthew 26:62/63- “Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you” 63-But Jesus remained silent. Matthew 27:13-14-Then Pilate asked him,”Don’t you hear the testimony they are bringing against you? 14-But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge-to the great amazement of the governor.”

Sometimes we allow ourselves to be baited into conflict, even though we know we have not done anything wrong, but we can’t resist the feeling to respond when we don’t need to so we respond anyway. Jesus knew who he was and what was the truth. He did not have to prove himself to those who were accusing him of wrong doing, and neither do we. We need to take this example and remain silent!!!!

  1. Nice Michael.
Sometimes, it’s important HOW we respond when we do respond.
“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Pr 15:1
